About Us

John Williams owns and operates K-9 Special Services and
has done so for 25 years. John is a mater trainer and dog
handler, as well as a certified trainer and instructor with 24
years of training experience. John Williams really loves dogs,
and you don't have to be around him long to discover that fact.
Just watch him observe how he reacts (and even talks) to
your dog and you will surely know that John is special with
dogs.

Mr. Williams is a 2003 graduate of Michigan's K-9 University,
located in Petersburg, Michigan, finishing second in his
class. He has been trained and certified to instruct dog
handlers and their dogs in obedience, kennel management,
tracking, protection training, explosives detection and
narcotics detection. John is a former member of the Virginia
Police Work Dog Association and the North American Work
Dog Association.

At K-9 Special Services we offer much more than just ordinary
training. We reach out further and teach you how to select the
right dog for you and your family, and equally as importantly,
how to take care of your new family member. We also offer an
apprentice program and internship program as well. We have
a youth program for ages 11 to 22 years. We provide you with
classroom instruction and field training so you can learn to
control your dog, and as a result, you will learn to love him
more. We will also show your children how to control your dog
as well. We are members of the Better Business Bureau and
the Hampton Roads Chamber of Commerce.
